If you are feeling unwell and have any Covid-19 symptoms you must immediately:

• contact the Kalives Medical Centre,
• self-isolate in a room at the villa
• and call Anna Doxaki, who is the owner of the villa on her cell phone (0030 6946501832 )

Kalives Medical Care is run by 2 lovely doctors and is located opposite the EKO Petrol Station in Kalives. Dr. Manos and Dr. Yiannis speak excellent English, are very knowledgeable, and they will make house visits.

For Covid-19 symptoms a doctor will either come to see you at the villa, or they will arrange an appointment for you at their testing room which is at a different location in Kalives from the medical centre, so please do not go to the medical centre. The doctor will need to speak with you first, and in some cases (listed in government regulations) they will send you straight to the government testing centre in Chania. You must wear a mask when you see the doctor, and please wash your hands before you see him.

Cleaning / Maid Service

We are not permitted to make our usual number of cleaning visits during your stay (to avoid unnecessary contact with cleaning staff with possible case and further transmission).

Mid-Week Cleaning is only available upon request and guests cannot be in the accommodation when the cleaner/house keeper is there.

Mid-Stay Cleaning is done automatically. For guests who do not want a mid-stay clean (1 week into a 2 week booking) the housekeeper will leave fresh towels and sheets at the villa for the clients to use, but the housekeeper/cleaner is not permitted to make up the beds.

Please e-mail us at info@villascreteholidays.com to let us know your cleaning requirements. We will inform you the day (s) and time (s) when the maid will visit so that you can leave the property.

Meticulous cleaning and good room ventilation is done between stays – including the keys and key safe. All fabric items and sunbeds at the villa have been steam cleaned.

Guests must put all sheets and towels into a bag that will have been left for them by the housekeeper/maid before cleans and upon departure. The bag must be closed and put outside the front door of the villa.

Guests must wear a mask if cleaning staff, the house manager, the pool person, or any maintenance staff comes to the villa.

Guests must go inside the villa, or leave the premises, if the pool person is cleaning the pool.

Cleaning staff are advised to use a simple mask (in case of non-availability of a surgical mask, the use of canvas is recommended), gloves and a disposable waterproof robe.

All remote controls are required to have a replaceable covering on them. Please do not remove this covering.

It is recommended that books, ornaments, cushions and all non-essential things should be boxed up and put away. The villa does have a few items but please understand if the villa looks more minimalistic that it does in the website photos.

We are required to have the names, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers of all guests who stay at the villa in case the public health department wants to contact them. There is a fine of 500.00€ if this isn’t done and there is a check.

We are not permitted to deliver our usual “Welcome Pack” which includes fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and fresh bread. We will, however, have provided a substitute “Welcome Pack” which will only have all items in factory sealed packaging (no fresh items).

Social / Physical Distancing

Social / Physical distancing of 2m is mandatory at all times when in public places.

Tavernas and Cafes

Only outside areas are permitted to be used, with a limited number of clients, and a greater distance between tables. Social distancing is required.

Shops and Supermarkets

Social distancing is required in all shops and supermarkets, and on the queue outside if there is one. Some supermarkets give you a card with a number when you enter, and you are required to return the card on departure. The use of a mask is strongly recommended. The number of people allowed in is limited by the size of the shop or supermarket. Hand sanitizer and/or disposable gloves are generally available for your use at the entrance to the shop or supermarket.

Public Beaches

A minimum distance of 4 meters must be maintained between individual umbrellas, each of which will provide shade for two sun loungers at most – this does not apply to families with children. Two sunbeds that are under different umbrellas cannot be placed closer to each other than 1.5m.

Placing a towel on top of sun loungers is mandatory and considered the responsibility of the user. The staff at organized beaches and beach clubs is required to disinfect sun loungers/chairs after every use. Additionally, they must regularly disinfect sanitary facilities and post a schedule of that cleaning for official review.

 At the Airport

The use of face masks is mandatory after entering the airport terminal; a mask must be kept on throughout a passenger’s stay in the airport areas, during boarding, and during the flight (domestic or international).

Passengers should also be aware that they may be asked to temporarily remove their mask during security processes and identity checks. Hand sanitizer dispensers are available at the airport, including the bathrooms.

Plexiglas panels have been installed for additional protection in areas where contact with employees is necessary such as ticket desks and information counters.

Seating in all waiting areas has been re-arranged to allow for safe minimum distances. The current recommendation is that every other seat be left vacant. However, families or couples traveling together do not have to keep this distance.

 Car Rental Companies (rent a car) The maximum number of passengers in accordance with applicable law will be limited, and revised regularly according to the epidemiological situation:Vehicles up to 5 seats:  up to 3 passengers, and the driver. Vehicles up to 7 seats transport of 4 passengers additionally to the driver.Vehicles of 8 or 9 seats: up to 5 passengers and the driver.The passenger limit can be increased provided that the vehicle is exclusively used by parents with their minor children. Each car will have a very thorough cleaning and disinfection between uses by different customers.The use of a non-medical protective mask is mandatory both by the passengers and the car hire agent when arranging the contract and handing over the vehicle.  Taxis / Transfer service (Professional vehicle/private vehicle with driver) Vehicles up to 5 seats:  up to 3 passengers, and the driver. Vehicles of 8 or 9 seats: up to 5 passengers, and the driver.The passenger limit can be increased as long as they are parents with their minor children, in addition to the driver.The use of a non-medical protective mask is mandatory, both by the passengers and by the driver.  The driver must avoid handshakes, and must ensure the natural ventilation of the vehicle. Tourists Coaches The maximum number of passengers in accordance with applicable law will be limited, and revised regularly according to the epidemiological situation. In particular, all public-use tourist buses and special open or closed city tour buses are allowed to carry passengers up to 65% of the maximum number of passengers. Antiseptics should be available at the entrance of the tourist buses.
